Here at All About Kids Childcare and Learning Center we believe it is important to foster language development by talking with infants as we change or feed them. We believe that by smiling and touching them softly, we are helping them learn to trust others and feel good about themselves. To foster learning through exploration we will make sure that when the baby is awake and alert we will provide equipment, materials, and activities that encourage the baby to explore. Also, we will encourage the development of their gross-motor skills by working with them on rolling over, sitting up, keeping control of their head, and more.
*We have an Infant Profile sheet that will better help your child's teacher care for your child and engage them in activities to further their development.
Your child is now interacting more independently with the world around them by crawling and walking. All About Kids is going to foster your child's social, emotional, physical, and cognitive skills through age appropriate activities. The teachers will encourage your child to socialize with other children and begin to teach them how to share. They will also engage your child in activities that will continue to develop their gross-motor and language skills.

At this age the potty will begin to be introduced to those children who show interest in it. Our staff will begin to encourage sitting on the potty during diaper changes. This is not something that is pushed upon children, we work with each child at his or her own pace.

All About Kids believes strongly in the idea that children learn best through play. To achieve learning through play, a preschool classroom must be set up into several centers or areas. These centers are the Manipulative center, Science center, Sensory Table, Block area, Writing center, Book area, Art center, Dramatic Play area and Music center. In these centers children will begin to learn about subjects like Math, Science, and Literacy. Each center is arranged invitingly so that the children want to find out what is in it. The centers are always being refreshed with materials that go along with the theme of the classroom. Within each of these centers, a child will be able to develop and build upon all of their skills. Potty training will take place in the 30-36 month old room. We encourage children to be potty trained before entering the 36-48 month old room.

For Kindergartners we like to keep the curriculum fun and entertaining. These children go to school half of the day, so we want their time at All About Kids to be educational but not too structured. These children need time to play either before they go to school or after. To much structure will make them unable to focus while they are in the classroom. That is why, just as in the preschool classrooms, this classroom will be set up with centers that will allow children to play and learn all at the same time. Also, on days when they are not in school, they will work with the teacher to come up with activities and field trips they would like to go on.
School-age children will experience a very open-ended curriculum. The children will help the teacher to plan activities for when they are not in school, such as summer and holiday breaks. These children will be able to attend field trips that will help them learn about their community and the world around them. On a daily basis when the children are in school, they will be provided with materials to help them with their homework and allow them to engage in appropriate activities with their friends.
Each summer All About Kids will be offering a Summer Camp for the Kindergarten and School-Age children. This camp will have a theme and children will go on approximately two field trips per week. They will engage in learning activities and we will provide enrichment in Reading, Writing, Math and Science.
